NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A high-speed police chase that began late Monday night ended with at least one arrest after a suspect led Metro Nashville police on a dangerous pursuit through several neighborhoods, reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour.
The incident began around 11 p.m. when officers attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop. Authorities have not released the reason for the initial stop, but the driver refused to pull over, prompting the start of the chase.
According to Metro Police, the suspect sped through Davidson County, weaving through various neighborhoods and reaching triple-digit speeds on the interstate. Officers deployed spike strips twice in an effort to slow the fleeing vehicle.
The pursuit ultimately came to an end in a parking lot on Buchanan Street in North Nashville, where the vehicle was disabled. Officers quickly moved in and took at least one person into custody. That individual was later booked into Metro jail.
No injuries have been reported, and authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the suspect or what charges they may face. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released in the coming days.
