Nashville, Tenn. — Three people were killed in a plane crash in White County on Saturday, April 26, 2025, when a Mooney M20TN aircraft crashed just south of Upper Cumberland Regional Airport. The crash occurred around noon, with emergency crews swiftly responding to the scene.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the single-engine plane was carrying three people at the time of the incident. The crash took place about a mile south of the airport in the Almyra Road area. Dean Selby, the director of Upper Cumberland Regional Airport, confirmed that all three occupants of the plane died as a result of the crash.
Emergency personnel from across White County, including firefighters and rescue teams, were deployed to the site, where they worked to manage the situation. The White County Firefighters Association posted on Facebook shortly after 12:15 p.m. that emergency crews were on the ground in the vicinity of Almyra Road. By 1:30 p.m., the North End Volunteer Fire Department reported that it was assisting at the scene, advising local residents to avoid the area of Almyra Road and Howell Cemetery Road until further notice.
The individuals who died in the crash were identified as pilot Jonathan Braun, along with passengers Dylan Clay Davis and his wife, Kelsie Lynn Davis, both from Alabama. Their identities were confirmed by Selby on Sunday, April 27.
While the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are leading the investigation into the crash, the cause of the incident has not been disclosed at this time. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash as they work to uncover further details.
The tragic incident has shaken the local community, and as investigations continue, officials are urging residents to remain clear of the affected area until all necessary procedures are completed.
