ANTIOCH, Tenn. — A teenage driver was killed and at least one other person sustained life-threatening injuries following a street racing crash Thursday night in the Priest Lake neighborhood of Antioch.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on Anderson Road near the 2900 block, according to Metro police reports.

Authorities said two vehicles were engaged in a street race when one of the drivers lost control. That vehicle collided with two other cars at an intersection before coming to a stop inside a nearby home. The driver of the vehicle that crashed into the residence died at the scene. Metro police tentatively identified him as a 17-year-old boy.

The passenger in the same vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The conditions of the occupants in the other vehicles involved in the crash have not been released.

Investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether any charges will be filed. Metro police have not yet confirmed the identities of the other individuals involved.

Street racing remains a significant safety concern for the community, with authorities urging drivers to avoid illegal racing activities on public roads.
