Cleveland, TN – Three members of the Cleveland Fire Department recently completed specialized training at the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy in Bell Buckle focused on fire apparatus pump maintenance and repair.
The weeklong course included two days of classroom instruction followed by two days of hands-on training. Firefighters learned about pump repacking, valve rebuilding, pump control repairs, general apparatus maintenance and troubleshooting pump-related issues.
The training concluded with the firefighters putting their newly developed skills to work. They repaired and maintained a pumper before successfully completing a pump test.
The Cleveland Fire Department said specialized training helps ensure its fire apparatus remains reliable and ready to respond when the community needs emergency services.
The department also praised the three firefighters for continuing to develop their skills and expand their knowledge through additional training.
