RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. — Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with the shooting of a young boy in Rutherford County. The suspect, 19-year-old Taliek Gallishaw-King, is also out on bond for a separate attempted murder charge in Smyrna.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Gallishaw-King is facing charges of evidence tampering and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon following the shooting of a 4-year-old child on Saturday, February 22. Deputies were called to a residence on Tessa Grace Road early that morning after receiving reports of a gunshot victim. The child, who had suffered a gunshot wound, was transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville. After undergoing surgery, the child is expected to survive.

Investigators revealed that Gallishaw-King fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, taking the handgun used in the shooting with him. Authorities have not yet located the suspect and are asking the public for assistance in locating him.

Initially, the sheriff’s office reported that Gallishaw-King was also wanted for attempted first-degree murder in a separate case in Smyrna. However, they later clarified that Gallishaw-King had been previously arrested for attempted murder in Smyrna and is currently out on bond for that charge. Further details about the Smyrna case have not been disclosed.

Detective Jesse Gammel, leading the investigation, stated that Gallishaw-King is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be made directly to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 615-898-7770 or Detective Gammel at 615-904-3051. Anonymous tips can also be left by calling 615-893-STOP (7867).

The sheriff’s office has expressed concern for public safety, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation and urging people to be cautious as the search for Gallishaw-King continues.
