NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Metro Police officers pursued a vehicle overnight that was connected to a shooting incident in April involving an off-duty officer, authorities confirmed.
The vehicle was initially spotted in the 4000 block of Lebanon Road. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver fled the scene. The pursuit continued into Sumner County before law enforcement terminated the chase for safety reasons.
The vehicle is reportedly tied to an incident on April 23, during which Scott Hudgens Jr., 33, allegedly fled a Nolensville Pike Walmart after shots were fired by an off-duty officer employed as store security. Hudgens is accused of shoplifting in that incident.
Additionally, Hudgens is wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a February theft at a Walgreens located on Harding Pike.
In May, Cold Case detectives began investigating the April shooting, seeking to interview Hudgens in connection with the case.
Metro Nashville Police Department has not confirmed whether Hudgens was the driver during Tuesday’s pursuit.
