NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 31-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 40 and crashing into multiple vehicles on Christmas night, according to Metro police.

Tori Reyes, who was driving under a revoked license, is accused of traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near Exit 196 around 11 p.m. on December 25, 2024. Officers were alerted to the dangerous driving and attempted to intercept the vehicle in an effort to stop oncoming traffic. However, Reyes continued driving in the wrong direction, colliding with at least three other vehicles before coming to a stop near mile marker 195.

Responding officers found Reyes unconscious in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, with a weak pulse. She was immediately transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of what were described as potentially life-threatening injuries.

Reyes was driving on a revoked license following a previous conviction for second-degree DUI in April 2024. In addition to the charges related to the crash, she is facing charges of reckless endangerment and driving on a revoked license.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the crash.
