NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 24-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly ramming several vehicles on Broadway near 8th Avenue South following a Nashville Predators game on the night of January 29. Authorities say the man became upset over heavy traffic in the area and responded recklessly, endangering lives.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, William Adams drove around barricades and approached an officer who was stationed at a fixed post directing traffic. The officer instructed Adams to turn off his pickup truck and present his driver’s license, but Adams reportedly refused, then placed the vehicle in reverse.

Adams quickly accelerated, hitting three parked sedans, each occupied by people who narrowly avoided injury. One of the vehicles struck by Adams’ truck was in close proximity to a uniformed officer, who was reportedly almost hit by the fleeing vehicle.

Authorities were able to track Adams down to his residence on Ewing Drive the following day, January 30. He was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, assault against a police officer, evading arrest, and reckless driving. His bond has been set at $53,000.

This incident has raised concerns about public safety in Nashville’s busy downtown area, particularly after large events. Police officials continue to investigate the events surrounding the incident.
