NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Nashville motorcyclist lost his life Sunday afternoon following a crash involving a pickup truck along Lebanon Pike. The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. on April 13, near the intersection of Lebanon Pike and Wellington Square.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 27-year-old Tyler S. Davis was riding his Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle eastbound at a high rate of speed when he collided with the driver’s side of a Nissan Frontier. The pickup truck was making a turn from the 3000 block of Lebanon Pike, attempting to cross the eastbound lanes to travel west.
The 26-year-old driver of the Nissan, who was not identified, told authorities that he did not see any vehicles approaching before attempting the turn. Investigators believe Davis’ speed was a contributing factor to the collision.
At this time, authorities have not indicated any charges will be filed, and the investigation remains ongoing. The fatal crash serves as a reminder of the risks associated with speeding, as well as the importance of drivers being vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
No further details about the incident have been released at this time, as officials continue to gather information related to the crash.
