Nashville, TN – A 21-year-old Knoxville man wanted for murder was arrested Sunday evening outside Nashville’s Greyhound bus station after he was located by undercover detectives. Kevin Martinez, who is accused of fatally shooting a 38-year-old man in Knoxville on December 19, was apprehended after a multi-day search led by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

The Knoxville Police Department had requested assistance in locating Martinez, who had been on the run following the fatal shooting. Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, MNPD detectives worked alongside TBI agents to track down the suspect. Their efforts led them to the Greyhound bus station in Nashville, where Martinez was found attempting to board a bus to California.

Martinez was arrested without incident when he stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. Members of the MNPD TITANS Unit, along with officers from the Central Precinct, moved in to take him into custody. Authorities confirmed that Martinez would be transported back to Knoxville to face charges related to the deadly shooting.

The successful arrest marks a significant conclusion to an intensive search for the suspect, with law enforcement agencies working together to bring him into custody.
