Franklin, Tenn. – A Franklin woman was arrested on Friday after she allegedly attempted to hire an undercover officer to kill her ex-husband, a former Nashville news anchor. The Franklin Police Department reported that Angelia Solomon met with the officer, posing as a “hitman,” in the parking lot of Cool Springs Galleria around 2:15 p.m. During the meeting, Solomon allegedly provided the officer with the registration for her vehicle and discussed future payments for the planned murder of her ex-husband, Aaron Solomon.

According to police, Angelia Solomon explicitly stated that she wanted Aaron Solomon “to disappear and to be put underground,” with the ultimate goal of securing access to a trust fund for their daughter. She reportedly indicated that Aaron’s death would enable their daughter to inherit the funds, which were otherwise inaccessible.

The case becomes more complicated due to a series of public allegations. In a 2024 interview with NewsNation, Angelia Solomon accused Aaron of being responsible for the death of their son, Grant Solomon, in 2020. Grant, who was tragically run over by his own vehicle, was ruled to have died in an accident, with no evidence of foul play. The Sumner County District Attorney’s Office has stated there was no “criminal act” involved in Grant’s death.

Adding to the controversy, the couple’s daughter, Gracie, released a YouTube video in which she accused her father of sexually abusing her. Despite these claims, Aaron Solomon has never been charged with any criminal offenses.

Court documents from 2014, obtained by News 2, show that Angelia Solomon had made repeated allegations of abuse against her ex-husband, both sexual and otherwise. The documents also reveal that a temporary restraining order was placed against Angelia, restricting her visitation with the children to only six hours per week. Her mental health was cited multiple times in the documents, raising concerns about her state of mind at the time.

Angelia Solomon has been charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond. Authorities have not released a statement from either Angelia or Aaron Solomon at this time. News 2 has reached out to both parties for comment but has not received a response.

This arrest marks a chilling turn in a complex and tragic family saga, highlighting a web of accusations and personal turmoil that has escalated to a violent plot. The case continues to develop, and more details may emerge as the legal process unfolds.
