FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Authorities in Franklin have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last week. The incident, which resulted in the death of 32-year-old Lattarius Johnson, is being investigated as a homicide.

On Tuesday, February 11, at around 6:30 p.m., the Franklin Police Department responded to a call on Valor Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

After several days of investigation, Franklin police arrested 37-year-old Robert Lee Fitzgerald, Jr. on Monday, February 17, charging him with criminal homicide. Fitzgerald is currently being held at the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

The police department has stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Johnson’s death marks the first homicide in Franklin for 2025, following a notably low homicide rate last year, with only one recorded death in 2024.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward.
