Nashville, Tenn. — Metro Nashville Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night in the Bordeaux area. Authorities were called to a home in the 2700 block of Hydes Ferry Road at approximately 8:39 p.m. on Friday, April 11, after receiving a 911 call reporting the incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the house secured, prompting them to force their way inside. Once inside, law enforcement discovered an AR-style rifle and blood stains, but no individuals were present at the residence.

Around an hour later, at approximately 9 p.m., police were alerted to a gunshot victim at Nashville General Hospital. The victim, later identified as 23-year-old Dontrail Spencer Jr., had arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. Spencer, accompanied by others who were reportedly in the home at the time of the shooting, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

While authorities have not yet provided details regarding the potential motive or whether the incident was accidental, they have stated that no charges have been filed at this time.

As the investigation continues, police are asking anyone with information about the events leading to Spencer’s death to come forward. Further updates are expected as more details emerge from the ongoing inquiry.
