Lawrence County, Tenn. — Severe weather moved through Middle Tennessee Thursday afternoon, leaving a trail of damage across Lawrence County. The storm brought intense winds, causing significant disruptions and prompting a swift response from local emergency crews.

According to Lawrence County officials, one of the most notable incidents occurred at Thousand Hills Cowboy Church, where a portion of the roof was blown off by the high winds shortly after 5 p.m. The damage to the church was one of several storm-related incidents that required immediate attention.

In addition to the damage at the church, the Lawrence County Fire and Rescue units, along with the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, were dispatched to numerous calls regarding downed trees and power lines throughout the region. Crews from the Lawrenceburg Utility System also worked alongside emergency responders to assess and repair the damage.

Law enforcement agencies, including officers from the Lawrenceburg Police Department, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, and Lawrence County Constables, assisted with the growing number of calls related to storm damage and public safety.

At the height of the storm, over 450 customers in the area experienced power outages, further complicating the response efforts. Crews from the Tennessee Department of Transportation and Lawrence County Highway Department worked diligently to clear debris and ensure the safe passage of vehicles in affected areas.

Officials are urging residents to exercise caution, particularly around downed power lines and debris. They are also encouraging individuals to report any hazardous conditions to local authorities to help expedite response efforts.

As the storm system passed through the region, first responders continued to manage the aftermath, ensuring the safety of residents and restoring normalcy to the community.
