Mt. Juliet Police Arrest Suspect Following Traffic Stop Fleeing Incident

MT. JULIET, Tenn. — A suspect wanted for aggravated assault was arrested late Wednesday night after fleeing from a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet.

The incident unfolded around 8 p.m. when officers with the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) initiated a traffic stop on North Mt. Juliet Road. The suspect, a 23-year-old man from Erwin, Tennessee, reportedly fled the scene on foot, prompting a search of the area near Pleasant Grove Road and Mt. Juliet Road.

In a series of updates posted on social media, the MJPD provided a detailed description of the suspect and shared a photograph with the public. Officers continued their search for several hours, while the department advised residents to stay alert.

According to MJPD, the suspect had been driving recklessly before fleeing the traffic stop, nearly causing a crash. Law enforcement officials later tracked him down and arrested him near a local gas station.

The 23-year-old man, who was wanted in Washington County for aggravated assault, was taken into custody without further incident. No additional information regarding the arrest or the assault charge was immediately released.
