MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 4-year-old boy in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The suspect, identified as Taliek Gallishaw King, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday, February 25, after a multi-day search.
King, who was wanted for evidence tampering and reckless endangerment, was taken into custody in Murfreesboro. The charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, February 22, at a home on Tessa Grace Road in Rutherford County.
Authorities said the young boy was found early Saturday morning with a gunshot wound and was immediately transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville. The child underwent surgery and is expected to survive his injuries.
King is currently being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $60,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on May 22 for his initial court hearing. Additionally, authorities have indicated that more charges are pending in a separate county.
The shooting incident has shaken the community, with law enforcement continuing their investigation as they work to bring justice for the young victim.
