Nashville, TN — A fatal crash occurred in Bellevue early Thursday morning, claiming the life of a 78-year-old Nashville man. The incident took place just after 6 a.m. on January 2, 2025, in the 7100 block of Highway 100, according to Metro Nashville Dispatch.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said that the driver of a Nissan Versa, identified as Orin Odom, was traveling northeast when he likely experienced a medical emergency. Evidence at the scene suggests that the medical event caused Odom to lose control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and struck a tree head-on near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Odom, a Nashville resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but authorities have not released additional details at this time.

This tragic crash serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of medical emergencies behind the wheel, and the importance of road safety. Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
