NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A holiday gathering turned violent on Memorial Day when gunfire erupted at Cedar Hill Park, leaving two teenagers injured, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on Monday, May 26, as a group of teens gathered in the park for a Memorial Day party. Authorities said an argument broke out in the parking lot, escalating into a shooting that left a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old injured. Police confirmed that neither teen was involved in the initial dispute but were instead caught in the crossfire.
One of the teens suffered a graze wound to the leg, while the other sustained more serious injuries to the arm and torso. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
Detectives with the department’s Specialized Investigations Division are actively working the case and following multiple leads. No arrests have been made at this time, and the identities of those involved have not been disclosed.
