NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced Tuesday that a 16-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with a recent stolen vehicle incident and possible involvement in a string of vehicle break-ins in East Nashville.

According to MNPD detectives, the stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck was discovered on Monday at an apartment complex in the East Nashville area. The truck had been reported stolen the previous day from Berry Hill. Authorities say the teenager entered the vehicle and began driving, but fled on foot when officers attempted to stop him. A brief foot chase ensued, and the suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

The 16-year-old is currently charged with vehicle theft and evading arrest in juvenile court. The police also noted that several other teens were seen near the truck before the suspect drove off, prompting further investigation into their potential involvement in additional vehicle break-ins in the area.

The MNPD’s Violent Crimes Division continues to look into the case and urges anyone with information to come forward as they work to resolve the investigation.
