NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A woman is in critical condition after a shooting early Monday morning in East Nashville. Metro Police responded to the 1600 block of Treutlan Place just before midnight, where more than a dozen shots were fired at a duplex.
Authorities say that at least five of the shots struck both sides of the building. One of the victims, a woman who was in an upstairs room of the residence, was shot once in the chest. She was immediately transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.
Two other people were present in a nearby room at the time of the shooting, but fortunately, they were not injured.
As of now, Metro Police have not released any information regarding the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
