NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has released its latest list of the city’s “Most Wanted” fugitives, highlighting individuals wanted for violent crimes, including aggravated assault, strangulation, and first-degree murder. These suspects are considered some of the most dangerous offenders currently at large in the area.

The weekly update, shared every Wednesday on the MNPD Criminal Warrants Division’s Facebook page, has been a crucial tool in the department’s efforts to locate and apprehend high-risk individuals. Since its inception in October 2022, over 150 people featured on the list have been taken into custody, many after fleeing the state or even the country.

Among those featured in the week of February 5, 2025, is 24-year-old Muhina, who is wanted in connection to a federal grand jury indictment. The charges against him are severe, including first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder, attempted murder, and tampering with evidence.

The charges stem from a tragic shooting incident in September 2021, which left 16-year-old Ja’Niya Birdsong dead and another teen injured. Birdsong, a Hillsboro High School junior, was shot and killed in the driveway of her grandmother’s home in Paragon Mills. According to family members, a dispute between several young men and the victims escalated, leading to the deadly shooting.

Initially, detectives had limited leads, with the only clue being a light-colored sedan spotted leaving the scene. However, as the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered significant evidence linking Muhina and five other suspects to the crime. Investigators discovered text messages between the individuals discussing plans to destroy the car used in the shooting, and they also allegedly conspired to hire someone to kill a key witness in the case.

Although at least one other suspect has been apprehended, Muhina remains on the run. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be reported to the MNPD at 615-862-8600 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

The ongoing investigation into the case continues, as law enforcement works to ensure that those responsible for the crime are held accountable. Muhina is now among the most wanted individuals in Nashville, and his capture is a top priority for local authorities.
