Nashville Police Investigate Shooting and Gunfire at Patrol Car in Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Metro Nashville Police Department has launched an investigation following a shooting incident in Madison Wednesday evening, which left an 18-year-old woman injured and resulted in gunfire being directed at a patrol car.

According to authorities, officers responded to a call around 6:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Old Hickory Boulevard West, where they discovered the victim, a teenager, suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg. Police reported that the young woman is expected to survive her injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The investigation took a tense turn when, during the response to the initial shooting, shots were fired at a nearby patrol car. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the gunfire.

As of now, details surrounding the motive for the shooting and the identity of any suspects remain unclear. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to gather more details and piece together the events that led to this violent encounter.
