Nashville, TN — A 27-year-old man wanted for a 2023 murder was taken into custody late Monday night following a dramatic chase through a Nashville neighborhood. Kealin Hicks faces charges in connection with the death of Diandre Starks, who was fatally shot on the Rosa L. Parks Boulevard interstate ramp.

According to the Nashville Police Department, Hicks was indicted for first-degree murder in the shooting death of Starks. The arrest followed a high-speed pursuit through Antioch, where Hicks allegedly drove recklessly through residential yards to evade capture. Police deployed spike strips to stop Hicks, who was driving a red Infinity sedan. Doorbell camera footage shared with NewsChannel 5 captured the vehicle speeding through the neighborhood while police pursued it.

The chase ended when Hicks was apprehended at an Aldi grocery store in the area. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle Hicks was driving had been stolen. Upon his arrest, police found two firearms and several key fobs in his possession.

In addition to the murder charge, Hicks is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Investigators say that during the shooting that killed Starks, Hicks also fired at a Jeep Cherokee occupied by two individuals. Although the vehicle crashed on the entrance ramp, the occupants were not injured in the incident.

Hicks was booked into the Davidson County Jail, with bond set at $250,000. Police have not released additional details regarding his prior criminal history or his motives in the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
