NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly making a bomb threat at Morgan Wallen’s This Bar in downtown Nashville. The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement and caused concern among bar staff and patrons.

According to court documents, bar security at the popular venue on Fourth Avenue North received a receipt with a disturbing message: “I have a bomb!! Don’t be a hero SYBAU.” Following the discovery of the note, bar security evacuated the premises, but no suspicious items were found during a subsequent search.

Metro Police were notified and began their investigation. Officers soon learned that the suspect, identified as Reginald Smith, had left Morgan Wallen’s bar and was reportedly at another location on Broadway. Smith was located and told police that he had written the note as a joke and did not intend for it to be taken seriously.

The bomb threat caused a significant disruption, pulling three officers off their regular patrol duties and creating a sense of alarm for both employees and customers. Despite Smith’s claim that the threat was not serious, Metro Police charged him with felony false reporting of an emergency. Smith was booked into the Metro Jail, and his bond was set at $15,000.

The incident highlights the dangers of making threats, even in jest, as they can lead to severe legal consequences and jeopardize public safety. Authorities continue to stress the importance of reporting suspicious activity and maintaining vigilance in high-traffic areas like downtown Nashville.
