NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 27-year-old man was arrested late Saturday night following a dangerous high-speed chase through Nashville, marking another incident in the ongoing Street Racer Initiative. Frank Eduardo Reyes-Borrayo, identified by the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), was taken into custody after he allegedly evaded law enforcement officers on two separate occasions.

According to police reports, the incident began on the evening of March 1 when a Dodge Charger was spotted driving at a high rate of speed on Nolensville Pike at Harding Place. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver fled the scene, prompting MNPD Aviation to follow the car.

The pursuit continued as the Charger made its way to Edmondson Pike near Old Hickory Boulevard, where police again tried to stop the vehicle. Reyes-Borrayo allegedly failed to comply, speeding at up to 100 mph and weaving between vehicles in center turn lanes in an attempt to evade capture.

Despite the driver’s efforts to outrun the authorities, officers were eventually able to apprehend him after he backed the Charger into a parking space in the 2500 block of Murfreesboro Pike. Upon arrest, a semi-automatic pistol was discovered inside the vehicle, positioned near the driver’s side door. Authorities confirmed that Reyes-Borrayo, who is not a U.S. citizen, was not legally permitted to possess the firearm.

Reyes-Borrayo has been charged with several offenses, including felony reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon (vehicle), two counts of felony evading arrest (with risk of injury), misdemeanor unlawful possession of a firearm, and misdemeanor driving without a license. He is currently being held at the Downtown Detention Center on a $27,000 bond. Additionally, the suspect is not eligible for release due to a detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as he is reportedly not in the country legally.

This incident comes amid heightened efforts by the MNPD to crack down on street racing and other dangerous driving activities across the city. While further details about the arrest have not been released, the case highlights the risks posed by high-speed chases and illegal weapons possession in Nashville.
