MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A Murfreesboro man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the sexual assault of multiple women.
Immanuel Webb, 39, was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape following an investigation into his actions that spanned over a year. Webb was initially indicted by a Rutherford County Grand Jury in July 2022 on two counts of rape and one count of aggravated burglary. However, the case expanded in 2023 when additional victims came forward, leading to further charges. In total, Webb was indicted on multiple counts of rape and sexual battery after a woman reported she had been assaulted by him.
The investigation revealed disturbing evidence, including video footage on Webb’s cellphone showing unconscious women being assaulted. Following a public release by the Murfreesboro Police Department in July 2023, a third victim stepped forward with additional allegations.
The victim’s claims were supported by more footage found on Webb’s phone, which ultimately led to a third indictment for Webb in October 2023, bringing the total charges to three counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery. In a hearing on February 14, 2024, Webb pled guilty to two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape. As part of a plea agreement, 10 other rape charges, four counts of sexual battery, and one count of aggravated burglary were dismissed. Webb’s sentence of 16 years in the Tennessee Department of Correction was confirmed, with additional requirements to pay court costs and fees. Following his release, Webb will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Emily Speed of the Crime Investigations Division expressed hope that the sentence would bring some peace of mind to the victims. “The three women were courageous in coming forward and reporting the heinous crimes committed against them. We hope this brings peace of mind to the victims that this man will no longer be able to continue to hurt and prey on any more women,” she said in a statement.
The case has underscored the importance of law enforcement and the public in preventing further crimes. Authorities continue to encourage any other potential victims to come forward to ensure justice is served.
