MT. JULIET, Tenn. — A woman was arrested Sunday evening in Mt. Juliet after officers observed what they described as suspicious behavior at a local Mapco gas station. The woman, who had been lingering at the location for nearly 40 minutes, was ultimately identified as being wanted in connection with a drug house investigation in Rutherford County.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m. on April 13 at the Mapco near Interstate 40. Officers noted that the woman appeared to be pretending to perform vehicle maintenance while parked at the gas station. Despite her seemingly harmless actions, her prolonged presence and behavior caught the attention of law enforcement.
Suspicious of her intentions, an officer approached the woman and conducted a brief investigation. The officer’s instincts paid off when it was revealed that the 43-year-old woman, a resident of Crossville, was wanted on a nationwide extradition warrant. The warrant stemmed from an investigation by Rutherford County law enforcement, which tied the woman to allegations of leasing a property for the purpose of operating a drug house. She is accused of using the residence to store and sell illegal substances.
The woman was taken into custody without incident and later booked to face charges in Rutherford County. Authorities have not released additional information about her identity or the specifics of the ongoing investigation.
“This is another example of our officers staying alert, investigating suspicious activity, and working hard to keep Mt. Juliet safe,” the Mt. Juliet Police Department posted on social media following the arrest.
