NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A man has been arrested for allegedly firing shots into a woman’s home after threatening to kill her, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
The incident unfolded on Tuesday when the woman reported receiving a threatening text message from 33-year-old David Claiborne, who then allegedly showed up at her residence on Crutcher Street. Authorities say that Claiborne yelled from outside before firing into the woman’s door and window. At the time of the incident, both the woman and a juvenile were inside the home, but fortunately, neither were injured.
MNPD detectives from the TITANS unit later located Claiborne at a home on Dabbs Avenue. During an attempt to flee from a traffic stop, Claiborne was taken into custody by officers. Authorities also recovered a handgun in his path.
In an interview with investigators, Claiborne reportedly admitted to the shooting. He has since been charged with two counts of aggravated assault. As of the latest report, Claiborne remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.
This incident highlights the dangerous nature of domestic violence-related offenses and the importance of swift law enforcement response. Authorities continue to investigate the matter.
