Goodlettsville Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in South Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Goodlettsville man died early Monday morning following a single-vehicle crash in South Nashville, according to Metro police.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Knight Valley Drive near Currey Road, close to the Nashville International Airport. Police identified the driver as 48-year-old Brian Morwood, who was behind the wheel of a Nissan Sentra traveling southbound at the time of the incident.

For reasons still under investigation, Morwood’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. Emergency responders rushed him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities noted that there were no signs of impairment at the scene, and the cause of the crash remains unclear at this time. Metro police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.

The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of driving, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant on the roadways.

Morwood’s family has been notified, and they are receiving support during this difficult time. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
