FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Five teenagers are in custody after attempting to break into a local gun store early Monday morning, according to the Franklin Police Department.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. at Arms and Ammo, located along Beasley Drive. Authorities say the suspects, aged 13 to 15, attempted to drive their vehicle through the front of the store in an effort to gain entry but were unsuccessful. The vehicle did significant damage to the storefront but did not breach the building.

After the failed attempt, the suspects fled the scene, but their vehicle was later located on Concord Road. With assistance from the Brentwood Police Department and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the five teens were located and taken into custody.

The teenagers now face a number of charges, including burglary, evading arrest, vandalism, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, minor in possession of a handgun, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

No further details, including the names of the suspects or the specific circumstances surrounding the stolen firearms, have been released. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
