Nashvillle, TN – A man was killed Sunday night in a fiery crash on Lebanon Pike, according to the Nashville Police Department. The accident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Lebanon Pike when the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck lost control of the vehicle.

Preliminary investigations indicate the truck was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it failed to navigate a slight curve in the road. The vehicle struck a utility pole before crashing into a tree, causing it to burst into flames. A passing motorist witnessed the incident and immediately contacted 911.

Emergency responders from the Nashville Fire Department (NFD) arrived at the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. However, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, as the Medical Examiner’s Office continues to work on confirming the driver’s identity.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. While speed appears to have played a significant role, police are looking into all factors that may have contributed to the deadly accident.

The accident temporarily closed a portion of Lebanon Pike as authorities gathered evidence and cleared the scene. The incident marks the latest in a series of fatal crashes on local roadways, prompting renewed calls for greater awareness of speeding and road safety.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as more information becomes available.
