NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A fatal shooting at a KFC restaurant in North Nashville has resulted in the death of a local man and the arrest of a suspect facing criminal homicide charges. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Christopher Ray Smith of Nashville.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the incident occurred Wednesday when Smith became involved in a heated argument with 30-year-old Isaiah Maston. Reports indicate that the altercation began when Maston’s unrestrained bulldog approached Smith and a friend, sparking a verbal exchange between the two men.

During the argument, Maston allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots at Smith. Smith was immediately rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The shooting has left the local community shaken, as residents continue to grapple with the tragic loss. Authorities have assured the public that a full investigation is underway as they work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal confrontation.

As the investigation continues, the MNPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
