Nashville, TN — A 62-year-old man has been arrested after a cyber tip from Google led authorities to discover images of child sexual abuse in his online account. Raymond L. Turner, a resident of Strasser Drive, was taken into custody this morning by detectives from the Special Victims Division. He faces multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, including two aggravated counts.

The investigation began after Google flagged suspicious images uploaded to Turner’s Google Photos account. The company promptly alerted law enforcement through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s (NCMEC) CyberTipline, a critical service used to report illegal content related to child exploitation.

Upon receiving the tip, detectives obtained a search warrant and executed it at Turner’s home. The search revealed that the suspect had stored electronic files containing the illicit material on his Google account. Authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of the images or when the uploads occurred, citing ongoing investigations.

Turner is currently being held in the [County] Jail with bail set at $150,000. He is facing three felony charges, including two counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. If convicted, Turner could face significant prison time, though the legal process is ongoing.

This case highlights the vital role that technology companies play in the fight against child exploitation. Google’s automated systems, which scan uploaded images for illegal content, have been instrumental in identifying potential offenders and alerting authorities to investigate further.

In a statement, [Local Law Enforcement Agency] expressed gratitude for the swift action taken by Google and emphasized the importance of continued vigilance in protecting children from online harm. Authorities have also urged the public to report any suspicious activity related to child exploitation.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are working to identify potential victims and determine the full extent of Turner’s activities. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle to combat child sexual abuse material on the internet and the critical role technology plays in both prevention and prosecution.
