NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A woman died early Sunday morning following a single-vehicle crash near Nashville International Airport, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. when the woman, driving a Nissan Murano, was traveling southbound on Glastonbury Road at high speeds. Police said the vehicle left the road on the right side, striking a culvert and a brick wall at Southwood Park Place.

Emergency responders rushed the driver to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but she was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the woman, pending notification of her family.

The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the woman’s identity, and a toxicology report will be conducted to assess whether impairment played a role in the crash. MNPD officials have said that the investigation is ongoing.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with high-speed driving, particularly in residential and less-lit areas near busy locations like the airport.

The police have not provided further details about the cause of the crash but continue to look into all factors that could have contributed.
