RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. — Rutherford County Fire & Rescue crews responded to a devastating fire Sunday evening, which tragically resulted in the deaths of several puppies.

At approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, emergency responders arrived at an outbuilding fire on Barfield Crescent Road. Upon reaching the scene, fire crews observed heavy smoke and flames engulfing the structure.

Firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control. After extinguishing the flames, a search of the building revealed the heartbreaking discovery of four puppies who had perished in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to this tragic loss. Rutherford County Fire & Rescue has not released any further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the fire.
