CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Two separate crashes on Interstate 24 in Clarksville caused significant disruptions on Sunday morning, with authorities working to clear the scenes and reopen the roadway.

The first crash, involving two tractor-trailers, was reported around 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-24 near mile marker 7. Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to the scene, and officials were able to safely remove an occupant from one of the vehicles. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported, but authorities attributed the crash to inclement weather conditions.

Just before 9 a.m., another crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-24 near mile marker 2.2. The number of vehicles involved in this incident has not yet been confirmed, but all eastbound lanes were closed as officials investigated the scene. The closure caused significant delays for drivers in the area.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the eastbound lanes were reopened shortly after 10 a.m., allowing traffic to resume normal flow.

Both crashes serve as a reminder of the hazards that inclement weather can pose to drivers, especially on busy roadways like I-24. Emergency crews quickly responded to both incidents, helping to clear the wreckage and minimize the impact on traffic.
