NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A man who was critically injured in a shooting over the weekend in North Nashville has died from his injuries, Metro police have confirmed.

The victim, identified as 29-year-old Jonathan T. Keith of Nashville, was shot early Sunday morning during an altercation with an acquaintance. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the argument escalated, resulting in Keith being shot. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly dragged Keith outside and attempted to clean up the crime scene before fleeing the area.

Police said multiple individuals were detained in connection with the incident, but the suspect had already fled by the time officers arrived. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are working to locate the suspect.

Keith, who had been critically injured, was later pronounced dead from his gunshot wound. Investigators are piecing together details about the confrontation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This marks the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area, and the MNPD is actively working to address the ongoing concerns surrounding public safety.
